Watching your children grow up is a wonderful thing. There are difficult times along the way, of course, but many happy moments too – and it can be very rewarding to see your little person turn into an adult.

Then, at some point, they move out. It’s part of life and a big step for them as they enter a wider world. But it’s a time of mixed emotions for you. There may be joy that your life is yours again, but also sadness that it’s the end of an era – and, possibly, that you feel less ‘needed’ than you once did.
